Under the direction and general supervision of the Levee Repair Project Headquarters (LRPH) Manager, this position serves as the Field Operations Section Lead for LRPH. The incumbent supervises staff performing contract administration and construction-related work and will provide expertise and guidance to staff on matters pertaining to construction contract administration and field inspection. The incumbent will support various LRPH projects by performing a variety of field and office engineering assignments in connection with engineering design, drafting and inspection on construction projects administered by the Division of Engineering.

Desirable Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have experience with construction management and contract administration; have technical civil engineering knowledge of pipelines, pumping plants, reservoirs, dams and other structures; can handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines; take initiative and be resourceful in meeting challenges; liaison with construction contractors, negotiate extra costs, and maintain a high level of professional and technical expertise. Field experience in any of the above applicable desirable qualifications is a plus. We are looking for candidates who have strong written and verbal communication skills, can take independent action, pay close attention to detail, work in a team environment, have excellent organization skills, and has computer skills in spreadsheets, project scheduling, computer-aided drafting, and word processing.
