MS Graduate Assistantship via AGU

The Aquatic Ecosystem Stoichiometry Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant beginning in Fall 2026 to join a collaborative project between UNL and the USGS. The student will contribute to research focused on understanding how low water levels in Lake Powell are weakening, or even reversing, the reservoir’s function as a calcium carbonate sink and its implications for phosphorus cycling. The student will have opportunities to develop skills in fieldwork, laboratory analyses (including ion chromatography, XRD, and nutrient and carbon analyses), experimental design, and data analysis. This assistantship includes a stipend, tuition support, and health insurance. It is well suited for students with a background in geology or geochemistry and interested in a career in water or natural resource management.
