Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
- To recruit a GESI expert to prepare GESI related documents and reports and assist PMO towards
successful completion of project.
Scope of Work
• Document the results of the GESI-AP implementation and make recommendations for changes in order to
achieve GESI-AP targets, ensuring vulnerable groups, including women and ethnic minorities can benefit
equally as other groups;
• Discuss issues and findings with the executing agencies, implementing agencies, PMO and RPMOs and
formulate recommended actions
• Assist Team Leader in Preparing Quarterly/ Annual Progress Report and Project Completion Report.
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output
• Collect GESI related information from town projects and assist PMO to prepare quarterly, bi-annual and
annual monitoring report to send ADB;
• Prepare and integrate in the project indicators related to gender, social inclusion and poverty in all
socio-economic surveys and project activities; ensure collection of sex and caste/ ethnicity
disaggregated data and analysis of the results, especially benefits from the project corresponding to
these indicators;
• Check socio economic surveys and develop means to cross check their validity. Review the socio-
economic profiles of each project town prepared by the RDSMCs;
• Review and refine, in consultation with PMO, RDSMCs, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Action Plan
for active involvement of women as equal partners in all decision making processes in the project and as
prime beneficiaries of the project activities, and for benefitting the poor and weaker sections of the
towns on priority and with additional assistance, support and efforts;
Minimum Qualification Requirements
• Master’s degree in Sociology/ Anthropology/ Social science, or related field, and minimum 10 years of
relevant working experience. Work experience of at least 5 years in WASH sector and preparation/
implementation/ monitoring of GESI Action plan.
• Relevant Training in GESI related activities
• Familiarization with ADB’s requirements on environmental and social safeguards.
• Working experience in donor-funded projects is preferred. The consultant should have demonstrated
evidence of writing reports meeting the required standard.
Minimum General Experience: 10 Years
Minimum Specific Experience (relevant to assignment): 5 Years
