Principal Investigator/Supervisor: Dr. Pascale Biron
Usual work schedule: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to
- Monitor the stream evolution following a freedom space restoration approach on the Petit-Pot-au-Beurre stream near Saint-Robert, Quebec;
- Maintain strong collaborative relationships with the owners of the land, Ferme Parentall;
- Test various process-based restoration approaches such as the addition of large-wood and the modification of tile drainage outlet; and
- Other research tasks as outlined by Principal Investigator.
Job qualifications/requirements
- PhD degree in the field of hydrogeomorphology with a thorough knowledge in agricultural stream management
- Advanced Geographical Information System (GIS) knowledge
- Knowledge of field measurement designs for surface and groundwater stream-floodplain connectivity
- Knowledge of the Quebec legislation context with regards to stream restoration in agricultural watersheds
