What the role is
As an Assistant Director in the Flood Resilience Design Department at PUB, you will play a crucial role in the project development and implementation of coastal protection infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with the team of engineers and consultants to support various coastal protection projects.
What you will be working on
Your job role will include, but is not limited to the following:
• Managing Professional Engineering Services and construction works contracts for coastal protection projects, to ensure timely delivery of projects within the allocated budget
• Reviewing and evaluating preliminary and detailed engineering designs, supervising consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with government agencies’ requirements, standards and contract specifications
• Calling of quotations/tenders for coastal protection works, and performing contract administration and procurement tasks for the project works
• Coordinating, consulting and obtaining approval from stakeholder agencies, grassroots leaders, nature & interest groups to ensure smooth implementation of coastal protection projects
• Managing public feedback and community engagement during the project implementation
• Any other duties as assigned
What we are looking for
• Degree in Engineering (including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Environmental Engineering) or Degree in Science related to coastal and marine systems, or equivalent
• At least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in planning, design, construction, or operations of water, coastal or other infrastructure projects
• Independent and self-driven team player with good communication and project management skills
• Analytical abilities to interpret technical data and carry out appropriate engineering analysis for coastal protection systems
• Competency in coastal and flood modelling tools will be an advantage
• Experience in Contract management and/or Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) will be an advantage
