The Sustainable Growth and Nature Department at Oxford Policy Management is seeking a GIS/Water Resource Management specialist on a fixed-term basis for Gujarat. The position would be located in India.

The Sustainable Growth and Nature Department works to promote climate-resilient, inclusive, and evidence-based approaches to natural resource management and rural development. We support governments and development partners to design and implement policies and programmes that strengthen water security to enhance livelihoods.
Position Summary
The GIS / Water Resource Management Specialist will:
- Facilitate capacity development initiatives using geo-informatic tools for planning and implementation.
- Customise GIS-based tools to support planning, monitoring, and implementation processes.
- Provide handholding support for the implementation of local water security plans.
- Facilitate the identification of potential areas for Water Resource Management measures.
- Provide technical backstopping for the preparation of technical estimates and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) related to Water Resource Management works.
Key Qualifications / Experience / Skills / Behaviours
- Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma in Geospatial Sciences, Earth Sciences, Natural Resources Management, or a related field.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and the relevant state language.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the natural resources management and/or rural development sector.
- At least 3 years of experience using GIS/Remote Sensing tools for planning, implementation, and monitoring of public programmes in India.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in Gujrat.
