The Senior Policy Advisor is responsible for undertaking analysis and developing policy and projects in matters of economic regulation, pricing, and performance in the Victorian water sector. It is to provide related strategic advice to senior executive management in the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, to the Office of the Minister for Water and Victorian government agencies. The role will include improving data management and performance analytics for customers, the public, government and the sector.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • The applicant must have an appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as economics, commerce, data science or a related field.
  • The applicant should have extensive relevant professional work experience in areas such as: 
  • Water policy 
  • Economic regulation 
  • Industry performance 
  • Water resources and water services 
  • The applicant preferably should have experience of:
  • Project and contract management
  • Data management and governance
  • Data analysis and communication, including use of business intelligence tools and online publication
  • Government and the water sector

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson St, Melbourne, with hybrid work arrangements available.
