Position Summary

The Department of Earth, Environmental and Resource Sciences (DEERS) at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for two postdoctoral research fellowships to conduct research projects as part of the Community-driven Inclusive Excellence and Leadership Opportunities in the Geosciences (CIELO-G) project (https://www.cielog.org/), funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The postdoctoral fellowship is open to applicants in any area of geoscience (regardless of Ph.D. discipline), including new areas of research that cross discipline boundaries. The CIELO-G Postdoctoral Fellows will design and conduct research projects addressing Earth system science issues impacting the Paso del Norte Region (west Texas, southern New Mexico, and northern Mexico). Successful applicants will demonstrate academic achievement and promise, commitment to engage with the community, contribute to the growth and diversity of the department, and potential to lead independent research. We seek applicants who have an independent research agenda with common interests with one or more DEERS faculty.
