| Job Summary | The Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Post Doctoral Research Associate who will be working in the areas of improving forecasts of weather, climate and snowpack, and testing experimental Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operation in the Hydrometeorology Research Group.In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States. | Essential Duties and Responsibilities | The incumbent will be working in the areas of remote sensing, improving forecasts of weather, climate and snowpack, and will contribute to Texas Forecast Informed Reservoir Operation Pilot. |
| Required Qualifications | PhD in Hydrology, Meteorology, Applied Math or a related field.A proven track record in reservoir modeling, optimization, and high-performance computing.Proficiency in C/C++ and Fortran.Good verbal and written communication skills. |
| Preferred Qualifications | Experience with developing distributed programs on high-performance computing systems.Experience in data assimilation and machine learning.A track record of publications in well recognized journals. |
