Job SummaryThe Department of Civil Engineering in the College of Engineering, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Post Doctoral Research Associate who will be working in the areas of improving forecasts of weather, climate and snowpack, and testing experimental Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operation in the Hydrometeorology Research Group.In accordance with USCIS regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to accept work in the United States. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent will be working in the areas of remote sensing, improving forecasts of weather, climate and snowpack, and will contribute to Texas Forecast Informed Reservoir Operation Pilot.
Required QualificationsPhD in Hydrology, Meteorology, Applied Math or a related field.A proven track record in reservoir modeling, optimization, and high-performance computing.Proficiency in C/C++ and Fortran.Good verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with developing distributed programs on high-performance computing systems.Experience in data assimilation and machine learning.A track record of publications in well recognized journals.
