Moonshot Missions seeks an experienced Water and/or Wastewater Utility Advisor for the Eastern United States. The Utility Advisor will apply technical training and hands-on experience to address the operational, managerial, and infrastructure challenges facing water utilities. In this role, you will manage technical projects, deliver direct technical assistance, and engage closely with utility clients and community stakeholders to support sustainable improvements and long-term utility resilience.

Training and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: environmental/earth science,civil/environmental/chemical engineering, environmental management/studies,sustainability, or related field.
- 6+ years of full-time experience working in water and wastewater utility operations, compliance.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the basic design, operation and compliance of water treatment and distribution systems and/or wastewater treatment and collection systems
- Knowledge of and ability to research best practices in water and wastewater utility operations, management and financial capacities
- Water and wastewater utility, regulatory and/or consulting experience
- Ability to write comprehensive reports based on site assessments and interviews with utility operators and management
- Previous project management experience
- Proficient in MS Office, and related business and communication tools
- Water/Wastewater Operator certification, Engineer-in-Training (EIT), and/or Professional Engineer (PE)
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Moonshot Missions team of experts to deliver optimal services to utilityclients by:
- Managing technical assistance projects and performing lead roles working directly with utility clients
- Researching background information about utility operational and compliance challenges and prepare technical reports to summarize research
- Coordinating and facilitating client meetings and distributing meeting minutes
- Performing site needs assessments to evaluate a utility’s operational challenges and identify areas of improvement and potential projects to implement
- Writing site assessment reports, project proposals and community technical assistanceworkplans
- Providing technical review of deliverables produced by project team prior to client receipt
- Preparing technical reports and support materials for state and federal grant applications to fund infrastructure projects
- Provide direct technical assistance to water/wastewater utility staff for the treatment and distribution/collection of water, including issues in which you have expertise and experienced related to:
- Drinking water source availability and quality
- Water and wastewater treatment processes
- Treated water distribution and/or wastewater collection
- Evaluation of a utility’s technical, managerial, and financial data and records
- Water and wastewater environmental regulations and permitting requirements
- Asset management and capital planning
Travel
Travel required within the US, subject to funding and according to health/safety guidelines. Moonshot Missions will reimburse travel costs.

Must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license
Proposed Salary Range and Benefits
Proposed Salary Range and Benefits
- Salary commensurate to experience with the minimum of the range starting at $75,000-$110,000/year.
