An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Water, Land and Biodiversity team in Yorkshire, where you will have an important role supporting the team as an asset management team member. The main responsibilities will be helping to inspect our assets and supporting the team with the asset management activities
One of the main responsibilities will be to inspect our assets and check that our assets are safe for public use.
You will help manage our data to ensure it is of a high quality and can be relied on to inform our future investment programme.
The role is a mix of on-site and desk work. There is also an expectation to work on incident response throughout weekends and bank holidays.
The team
Our team manage the whole lifecycle of our Water, Land and Biodiversity assets, i.e., planning, delivery, maintenance, decommissioning. We are responsible for ensuring our assets are constructed, inspected, surveyed, assessed, maintained, and operated in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Experience/skills required
We’re seeking people with a passion for the environment and asset management experience. The way in which you adapt, communicate, and use your initiative to overcome challenges will set you apart.
Ideally, you’ll have an engineering or science background and can demonstrate the following which are advantageous:
Knowledge of asset management
Practical experience of undertaking works in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and health and safety knowledge.
Comparable relevant technical knowledge.
Proven data management skills
Health, safety, and environmental awareness
Driving licence

The role is a mix of office-based and site based, with some flexibility for hybrid-working. Travel to customers and Environment Agency offices in our area and further afield is required from time-to-time, visiting locations which may not be easily accessible via public transport so a full UK driving licence is essential.
