This is a permanent full-time position commencing March 2026

The Strategic Asset Services Branch supports the Infrastructure Operations Directorate by delivering strategic asset planning and advisory services that underpin the effective management of the Department’s land and facilities portfolio. The branch contributes to long-term land planning for schools and the development of asset planning policies, processes and frameworks that support sustainable and informed decision-making.

The branch also provides specialist services to schools and the wider Department, including property and land estate management support, security and emergency management, environmental and water management services, and statistical and demographic planning. Through these functions, the branch plays a key role in ensuring education infrastructure is planned, managed and maintained to meet current and future needs.

The Role

The role provides specialist services relating to water quality and alternative water resources for Western Australian public schools. This includes undertaking research to support the development and implementation of recycled water quality management strategies, investigating and reporting on water quality compliance issues, and managing third-party investigations to ensure alignment with legislative requirements and Department of Health policies and protocols.

The position develops reports, briefings and ministerial responses on water quality matters and provides expert advice to the Manager Strategic Asset and the Director, Asset Planning and Services. The role also liaises, consults and negotiates with key stakeholders across state, federal and local government agencies, and represents the Department on committees and working parties as required.

In addition, the role supports Branch operations by working collaboratively within a team environment, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and standards, and contributing to a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace. A strong focus is maintained on customer service, continuous improvement, and building effective relationships across EBS and the broader Department to achieve organisational outcomes.
