Summary

SRP is seeking a college intern to provide support for its Water Quality & Waste Management Services group within the Environmental Services department, whose mission is to provide leadership and guidance to assure continuous environmental compliance while controlling environmental liabilities and costs. Working collaboratively, we develop innovative policies, programs and technologies to promote sustainable water and power resources, balancing the needs of our customers with the protection of the environment.  

The student intern will work daily scheduled hours based on the department’s needs, with a minimum requirement of 15 hours and up to 40 hours per week maximum.

What You’ll Do

The successful candidate will assist SRP staff in the duties associated with water quality permitting, regulated waste management, data analysis, preparing regulatory reports, other environmental compliance support tasks, and providing technical support to department staff.  This internship is a great opportunity for students who wish to develop a career in any discipline of environmental compliance, and want to learn and refine their professional skills at the nation’s 3rd largest utility.

Education

College level coursework (100+) from an accredited institution will be evaluated on an individual basis according to the skill/level to determine if applicable to the position by management.

Experience

To be eligible for SRP’s year-round Intern Program, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 college credits in the Spring Semester.  Student interns are expected to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, but up to 40 hours are available if school schedule can accommodate.  Work week is Monday – Friday during support hours of 7am-5pm. Must be able to work 2 days per week at our Corporate Headquarters in Tempe.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
