Offer Description
University of Zagreb Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering is inviting applications for the following positions
1. A permanent, full-time position of an assistant professor (m/f) in the scientific area of technical sciences, a scientific field of civil engineering, a branch of hydrotechnics in the Department of Water Management, Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering.
2. A temporary (four-year long) full-time position of a senior assistant lecturer (m/f) in the scientific area of technical sciences, a field of interdisciplinary technical sciences, a branch of environmental engineering in the Department of Water Management, Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering.
3.An expert associate (m/f) in the scientific area of technical sciences, a field of interdisciplinary technical sciences, a branch of environmental engineering who will serve as a temporary substitute for an absent employee in the Laboratory of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering.
Candidates applying for the 1st position have to fulfil the requirements prescribed by the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Law (OG No. 119/22) as well as the requirements prescribed by Rector`s Conference (OG No. 122/17 and 210/21). Besides a signed application form, applicants have to submit the following documents: a CV with their signature (not more than a full text page), data on their scientific, teaching and professional activities, a notarized copy of a diploma of an appropriate qualification and of an academic degree or a decision on the recognition of a foreign higher education qualification for those candidates who have gained their qualification abroad, a list and offprint of papers, proof of paper citation and journal indexation, documents which confirm that candidates fulfil the requirements prescribed by the Rector`s Conference, proof of their years of service provided by Croatian Pension Insurance Institute and proof of citizenship. The following criteria will also be taken into consideration during the selection procedure: teaching experience of hydrological courses at an undergraduate and graduate level, participation in scientific-research projects and professional work in the field of water management, knowledge of programming in the Phyton programming language and hydrological modelling.
Candidates applying for the 2nd position have to fulfil the requirements prescribed by the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Law (OG No. 119/22). Besides a signed application form, applicants have to submit the following documents: a CV with their signature, data on their scientific, teaching and professional activities with a list of papers, a copy of a graduate diploma as well as a copy of a diploma which proves that they have completed a postgraduate study programme and that they have been awarded a PhD title in an area of technical sciences, a field of interdisciplinary technical sciences. Applicants` achievements during their doctoral study, especially the duration of the study, GPA and a scientific/professional paper will be taken into consideration during the selection procedure. Candidates also have to submit proof of their years of service provided by Croatian Pension Insurance Institute, proof of citizenship and proof of active knowledge of the English language (a certificate or an applicant`s statement) and proof of computer literacy. Knowledge of groundwater modelling (GMS) and GIS (ArcGIS) will also be taken into consideration during the selection procedure.
Candidates applying for the 3rd position have to submit a signed application form, a CV, a copy of an appropriate bachelor or master`s degree in technical or natural sciences, proof of their years of service provided by Croatian Pension Insurance Institute, proof of citizenship and proof of active knowledge of the English language (a certificate, a copy of a matriculation book or an applicant`s statement) and proof of computer literacy. Laboratory work experience is desirable.
In a signed application form applicants have to provide personal data and they have to state the position they are applying for.
Those applicants whose mother tongue is not Croatian have to submit proof of knowledge of the Croatian language, level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Applicants who state in their application that they have advantage over other candidates according to special regulations have to submit prescribed documents.
Applicants who state in their application that they have advantage over other candidates according to the Article 102 of the Law on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and their Families (OG121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23) besides an application and proof that they fulfil the required criteria also have to submit proof prescribed by the Article 103, subsection 1 of that Law. The selection procedure will be carried out according to the Ordinance on Job Vacancy Announcement of University of Zagreb Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering and the Ordinance on the Selection Procedure and Promotions of Expert Associates of University of Zagreb Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering, which are posted on the Faculty`s webpage.
