EarthEcho is seeking a self-directed individual to coordinate both the EarthEcho Water Challenge water quality monitoring test kit sales and fulfillment and management of the community science water quality database. The Water Challenge test kits and database are vital to the success of EarthEcho’s signature community science program, the EarthEcho Water Challenge.

The EarthEcho Water Challenge builds public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world by engaging community members at large to conduct basic monitoring of their local waterbodies and implement their own strategies toward the protection and improvement of those water resources. The program runs annually, with key activation dates on March 22 (the United Nations World Water Day) and September 18 (World Water Monitoring Day) building public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world by engaging community members to conduct basic monitoring of their local waterbodies:

  1. Check: It all starts by understanding the state of water quality in the community.
  2. Share: Entering data online to our global database at monitorwater.org and sharing stories and photos with the broader EarthEcho Water Challenge community of practitioners through social media. (tagging @EarthEcho)
  3. Protect: Informed by water quality data, participants use the information and resources available on monitorwater.org to take action and protect their vital water resources.

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Programs, essential duties of the EarthEcho Water Challenge Kit & Database Specialist include:

  • Serve as the primary liaison to vendors and logistics services providers, overseeing all purchasing, fulfillment, and distribution processes for EarthEcho Water Challenge test kits.
  • Manage and maintain the Water Challenge participant database, ensuring full functionality, data accuracy, and the development of partner dashboards.
