Do you have a passion for Colorado’s natural resources and a knack for precision? The Colorado Division of Water Resources (DWR) is looking for a Lead Hydrographic Scientist to join our Division 5 team in Glenwood Springs.
In this role, you won’t just be crunching numbers; you’ll be the steward of the data that drives water administration for Division 5. From maintaining high-tech field gaging stations to leading a dedicated team of specialists, your work ensures that our streamflow data is accurate, reliable, and actionable.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide oversight and leadership to the Division 5 Hydrographic team.
- Operate and maintain critical research stations to verify streamflow.
- Partner with water users, engineers, and government entities to provide data essential for modeling and water rights evaluation.
Qualifications: 8+ years of experience in scientific field investigations (surface water flow or natural resources). Relevant education (engineering, hydrology, water resource management, environmental engineering, etc) may be used as years of experience.
