Job Responsibility:-
1. NRW Management & Analysis
- Conduct water balance analysis as per IWA standards.
- Monitor and analyse system network, input volume, billed consumption, and apparent and real losses.
- Knowledge on DMA Creation, Step test, Flow measurement.
- Develop and maintain NRW dashboards and reporting tools.
2. Leak Detection & Control
- Supervise field teams conducting active and passive leak detection.
- Utilize technologies like acoustic loggers, correlators, and noise sensors.
- Plan and oversee pressure management zones (PMZs) and district metered areas (DMAs).
3. Network Monitoring & Metering
- Support installation and calibration of flow and pressure meters.
- Analyse data from SCADA, AMI/AMR systems to detect anomalies.
- Ensure accuracy and maintenance of customer and bulk meters.
4. Infrastructure Assessment
- Perform condition assessments of water pipelines and assets.
- Recommend rehabilitation or replacement to reduce real losses.
- Assist in developing GIS-based asset inventory systems.
5. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of NRW indicators and loss reduction activities.
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders, donors, or regulatory bodies.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to NRW.
6. Capacity Building & Coordination
- Train utility staff and contractors on NRW best practices.
- Coordinate with billing, customer service, and maintenance departments.
- Liaise with clients, consultants and technology vendors as required.
- Field visits to DMAs, customer premises, and pumping stations required.
- Occasional extended hours during leak emergencies or system failures.
Key Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and GIS tools.
- Effective communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams in field and office environments.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and water utility operations.
- Knowledge of IWA water balance, leak detection techniques, and pressure management.
- Experience with hydraulic modelling, GIS, SCADA, and metering systems.
- Familiarity with international NRW tools (e.g., Aqua logics, EPANET, Water GEMS).
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Work Experience:
3-5 Years of relevant experience
Malayalam speaking candidate will have an added advantage.
