Hydros is looking to hire an experienced Water Resources Engineer with background in the following areas:
- Surface and ground water modeling with an emphasis in basin-scale management paradigms, operating policies and water rights allocation.
- Seasonal hydrologic and water supply forecasting using climate-driven models and datasets
- Water rights engineering and historical consumptive use analysis
- Data visualization tools and database and software development
Minimum education / experience requirement: Master’s Degree in Water Resources/Environmental Engineering/Hydrology plus 3 years’ experience in Consulting, or Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years’ experience.

Desired qualifications include:
- M.S. or Ph.D. In Civil Engineering (Water Resources), Hydrology, Geology, or related field with experience and interest in Water Resources. Previous consulting experience highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills required; the ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical material to non-technical client staff is highly valued.
- Expertise in the development and application of numerical models to water resources systems including:
- Experience with Colorado water rights engineering and analyses tools (CDSS, StateCU, IDSCU, IDSAWAS, etc.)
- Modeling Platforms: RiverWare, MODFLOW / GW-Vistas, StateMOD, HEC tools
- Experience in the development and use of climate-driven models for developing short-term to mid-term hydrologic forecasts; familiarity with datasets such as NLDAS, MERRA, and other land and atmospheric analysis tools
- Programming Languages / Utilities such as: R, Python, VBA, database languages
- Bonus points for experience in water quality modeling and permitting
- Self-starter who is able to work independently.
