BORDA Tajikistan is seeking a highly motivated Project Associate, of Tajik Nationality, to support the planning, coordination, and implementation of WASH and decentralized sanitation projects. The role combines project management, capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight, working closely with national and international experts.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate internal teams, consultants, and third parties for smooth project execution.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on feasibility assessments and proposed solutions to local authorities (Hukumath), including documentation and official confirmations.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.
- Lead, guide, and motivate project staff to align with project objectives.
Capacity Building & Training
- Develop training packages in collaboration with BORDA’s Regional Office, Headquarters, and international consultants.
- Organize training sessions and awareness events in coordination with site engineers and administrative teams.
- Liaise with ministries, local authorities, schools, hospitals, NGOs, and academic institutions to ensure stakeholder participation.
- Support preparation, review, and translation (into Tajik) of training and presentation materials.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain digital and hardcopy project records, including Means of Verification (MoVs), on BORDA’s SharePoint.
- Document and report on all project events, ensuring proper archiving and compliance with donor requirements.
Quality Assurance & Sustainability
Implement quality control measures to ensure effective and reliable decentralized sanitation solutions
- Assess environmental impacts and integrate sustainability considerations into project planning.
- Identify and apply innovative technologies to improve project outcomes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and local communities.
- Engage stakeholders to understand local needs and ensure alignment with regulations and priorities.
Budgeting & Financial Management
- Support budget planning, financial forecasting, and resource allocation on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Review and approve financial requests and invoices in line with approved budgets.
- Monitor project expenditures to ensure financial compliance.
🔹 Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in coordinating or implementing development projects or construction works, preferably in the WASH sector.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science or Engineering (preferred).
- Excellent written and spoken command of English, Tajik, and Russian.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with sector experts and developing training materials.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate trainings and events with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Good understanding of Tajikistan’s humanitarian, development, and political context.
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
