Centre for microFinance (CmF)
Centre for microFinance (CmF) (www.cmfraj.org) is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Rajasthan Societies Act, 1958 and set up jointly by development practitioners, Tata Trusts, academicians and key stakeholders from government and banks in the year 2007.
It was conceptualized as a resource organization to catalyse the growth of the community-based microfinance (Self-Help Group model) and rural livelihoods in Rajasthan. Training and capacity building of community institutions, government and non-government agencies, research and knowledge dissemination and direct implementation have been the key functions of CmF to achieve its objective. Over time, based on the emerging needs of the communities and the macro-level changes –such as rollout of flagship programs of central and state government, CmF has continued to adapt its role and programmatic coverage. Beginning 2015, CmF expanded its domain from microfinance and agriculture and allied livelihoods to include education, skilling, nutrition and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
Currently, in the space of Water, CmF is focusing on sustainability of the access to water for drinking and agriculture purposes. CmF has implemented community-managed drinking water in 200 villages followed by water security programs in Sirohi and Pali districts, covering over 350 villages. The water security project includes developing village water budgets and water security plans, constructing and renovating water harvesting structures, promoting micro irrigation, and building capacities of local community leaders, VWSC and Panchayat.
CmF is looking for skilled professionals to for watershed, natural resource management (NRM) works and support communities in planning and implementation of water security interventions.
Position: Jr.Engineer (NRM/Watershed)
No of positions: Two
Location: Reodar block, Sirohi (1 position) and Kurabad block, Udaipur (1 position,)

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct field technical surveys and data collection for planning technical interventions
- Plan (preparation of DPRs) and implement various structures, including water harvesting, groundwater recharge, irrigation, and Soil and Water Conservation (SWC) structure under Watershed approach
- Ensure efficient use of software like Google Earth Pro and QGIS for planning and site demarcation
- Provide technical support to the community in preparing water budget, water security planning, and Water Resource Management (WRM) intervention design (e.g., groundwater recharge, micro irrigation).
- Monitor quality parameters for construction activities under Watershed and installation of irrigation systems
- Training, capacity building of Panchayat Jal Sahayaks / Community Mobilizers on NRM works / Watershed
- Support team in other technical interventions incl. rural and agricultural technologies, design and estimates
- Keep proper records of field expenditures like Measurement Books (MB) and Utilization Certificates (UC)
Eligibility
- Diploma / Bachelor degree in Civil / Agricultural Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in water resource management
- Knowledge of water budgeting, water security planning, and community engagement approaches will be added advantage
- Skill in relevant computer software and tools for engineering design and analysis.
