WASH Institute is inviting applications for the position of Project Manager to be based in Vedasandur, Dindigul, TN.
Since 2008, WASH Institute has been working across India to provide sustainable Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) solutions through training, technical advisory, and large-scale community programs. We collaborate with governments and sector partners to implement flagship schemes such as SBM, JJM, and AMRUT.
– Roles and Responsibilities:
– Lead implementation of WASH and Solid Waste Management (SWM) projects, including IEC/BCC campaigns and pilot initiatives, in coordination with technical teams.
– Manage and guide field teams, community mobilizers, interns, and consultants to ensure quality, timely execution.
– Act as the primary liaison with Urban Local Bodies (Town Panchayats) and government stakeholders; support SBM compliance and operational improvements.
– Drive community engagement and behaviour change through campaigns, school programs, Eco-Clubs, market interventions, and plastic reduction initiatives.
– Monitor project progress, budgets, and risks; ensure alignment with logframes and donor requirements.
– Prepare donor-ready reports, documentation, and ensure compliance, audit readiness, and record-keeping.
– Conceptualize and support pilot innovations, assessing scalability and sustainability with ULBs post-project.
– Who We’re Looking For
– Postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, or related field.
– Minimum 5-6 years of relevant experience in WASH, urban sanitation, SWM, or development projects.
– Proven experience working with ULBs, government systems, and community-based programmes.
– Strong understanding of sanitation value chains, behaviour change approaches, and urban service delivery.
