Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

                           PROFESSOR: 

  • PHD in Hydrology and Water Resources or related areas of Water Resources Engineering 
  • At least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field 
  • At least fifteen (15) articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book, and book publication
  • Evidence of supervision of at least four (4) Master’s and/or Doctoral  students   

                       ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:

  • PHD in Hydrology and Water Resources or related areas of Water Resources Engineering 
  • At least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field 
  • At least ten (10) articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book, and book publication. 
  • Evidence of supervision of at least four (4) Master’s and/or Doctoral students 

Duties:

  • Lecture principles and applied aspects of surface water hydrology, water supply, and sanitation to undergraduate students
  • Initiate, find funding for, perform, and publish research
  • Supervise honours, master’s, and PhD students
  • Initiate, participate in community engagement projects
  • Assist the department in developing and improving its curricula
  • Take part in departmental strategic planning workshops
  • Perform administrative tasks if required by the HoD
  • Conducting an active research programme in collaboration with others within and outside the Department and/or university.
  • Publishing research results in accredited, high-impact national and international journals.
  • Mentor young academics on research and publication.    
  • Lead or participate in community engagement projects
  • Effective involvement in the community engagement activities of the department.
  • Active participation in the administration of the Department.
