REQUIREMENTS:
PROFESSOR:
- PHD in Hydrology and Water Resources or related areas of Water Resources Engineering
- At least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least fifteen (15) articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book, and book publication
- Evidence of supervision of at least four (4) Master’s and/or Doctoral students
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
- PHD in Hydrology and Water Resources or related areas of Water Resources Engineering
- At least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field
- At least ten (10) articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book, and book publication.
- Evidence of supervision of at least four (4) Master’s and/or Doctoral students
Duties:
- Lecture principles and applied aspects of surface water hydrology, water supply, and sanitation to undergraduate students
- Initiate, find funding for, perform, and publish research
- Supervise honours, master’s, and PhD students
- Initiate, participate in community engagement projects
- Assist the department in developing and improving its curricula
- Take part in departmental strategic planning workshops
- Perform administrative tasks if required by the HoD
- Conducting an active research programme in collaboration with others within and outside the Department and/or university.
- Publishing research results in accredited, high-impact national and international journals.
- Mentor young academics on research and publication.
- Lead or participate in community engagement projects
- Effective involvement in the community engagement activities of the department.
- Active participation in the administration of the Department.
