Role Overview
Over the past two decades, our team and capabilities have grown and evolved, underpinned by a culture of openness, innovation, and respect. To support our continued growth in Ireland and the UK, we are adding a Water Sustainability Advisor to our team.
Reporting to the Head of Advisory, you will support clients by providing practical technical and strategic input on a range of water-related initiatives at both site and portfolio levels. You will help develop clear, actionable strategies that help clients improve water efficiency, strengthen water resilience, and meet water-related disclosure requirements – all while aligning with their business goals, regulatory obligations, and stakeholder expectations.
As a Water Sustainability Advisor, you will play an important role in supporting sustainable water management across a range of sites and portfolios, helping to deliver measurable business and environmental outcomes. You will work with clients across Ireland and the UK and be supported by a culture that values collaboration, learning, and professional development. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and contributing to site-and portfolio-level water assessments, including water mapping, water balance analysis, risk identification and true cost of water studies ensuring projects are delivered on scope, schedule and budget
- Assisting in the development of baselines for water efficiency, resilience and stewardship, identifying high-impact opportunities for improvement that deliver measurable impact.
- Benchmarking site performance against industry peers and internal targets to identify quick wins and develop long-term improvement strategies.
- Translating findings into actionable, phased plans featuring measurable targets, capital and operational options, and compelling business case summaries.
- Guiding clients in the accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of water data, ensuring compliance with leading frameworks such as the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
- Facilitating educational and decision-making workshops with cross-functional teams to align objectives, build stakeholder commitment, and drive momentum.
- Communicating effectively across all organisational levels to advocate for and advance water-related initiatives.
What We Are Looking For:
- An honours Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Water Resource Management, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1 – 3 years’ relevant experience in water, environmental or sustainability projects (industrial or commercial settings desirable).
- Experience or interest in water metering, monitoring, water risk assessment, analysis, optimisation and water mapping.
- The ability to lead client sustainability engagements
- An ability to identify, establish, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong team player who can manage several projects, meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client service-oriented mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report drafting and delivering presentations
- A proactive, self-motivated approach, with willingness to take ownership of tasks and learn from others.
- The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Excellent IT skills, (MS Excel in particular) and resource efficiency and mapping software.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems and standards (e.g. ISO 14001, ISO 50001, AWS) is desirable but not essential.
- The role will require a flexible approach to working, and a willingness to travel to client sites across Ireland and to various related events and conferences if required.
Eligibility Criteria:
You must be currently legally entitled to work and reside in Ireland. If you are not currently an EEA Citizen, you must upload a copy of your current Visa and Work permit along with your CV or your application will not be processed. Please note your current work authorisation status must allow you to fulfil the terms of the contract on offer.
