Job Description

AECOM is searching for an Municipal EIT to be based in our Kelowna, BC office. The ideal successful candidate will have a experience and a general understanding of civil design and construction with municipal storm water, water and wastewater projects. They will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and clients. They will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy, and enthusiasm for getting things done! The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of linear conveyance infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal storm water, water and wastewater sector.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Planning and design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater/drainage conveyance facilities
  • Writing of technical memorandums and reports
  • Performing construction inspections
  • Preparing documentation for design projects and reports
  • Assisting with the preparation of construction cost estimates
  • Assisting with the preparation of project specifications and contract documents

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, registered as an EIT with EGBC
  • 2+ years of related experience with civil design and construction of municipal storm water, water and wastewater projects

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in civil engineering, hydraulic modelling, planning, and design construction inspection
  • Working knowledge of contract documentation including MMCD and CCDC
  • Working knowledge of water / wastewater / drainage conveyance infrastructure in a Municipal environment
  • Working knowledge of blue and green infrastructure: ponds, wetlands, bioswales, raingardens, etc.
  • Excellent written skills needed for technical reports
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and clients
  • Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $60000 to $85000.
