Under general supervision the Aquatic Science Division Program Coordinator provides critical operational support for Division programs. This position works closely with the Division Director, Section Managers, and Program Staff to facilitate Division purchasing, travel, and field data management. The Program Coordinator also manages and maintains the Aquatic Science Division document library and provides field support to Division programs when needed.
Job Duties:
- Assist Aquatic Science Division with administrative, data entry, and other duties as identified by the Division Director and Section Managers.
- Prepare requisition, purchase orders and direct expenditure invoices for processing in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) system. Manage reconciliation and workflow approval for purchasing card holders within the Aquatic Science Division.
- Manage Aquatic Science Division document library, support field logistics, and participate in field work when needed.
- Prepare travel documents for Division staff including requisitions and reimbursement forms.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail/correspondence for the Division. Receive, screen, and refer telephone calls and visitors for the Division and Bureau, as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by Division and Bureau of Water management.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and four years of administrative experience in an office setting.
- An associate degree and two years of administrative experience in an office setting.
- A bachelor’s degree.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of office management procedures, policies, and practices, including an understanding of filing and record keeping practices.
- Working knowledge and ability to use standard office equipment including computers and printers, copiers, scanners and fax machines.
- Ability to obtain Direct Purchase Order (DPO) certification and understanding of procurement procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge or educational experience in environmental science, marine science, or other related natural science field.
- Experience conducting environmental or aquatic science field work and managing scientific data.
