Role Overview:
The Field Facilitator will be responsible for mobilizing communities, supporting implementation of NRM structures (farm ponds, check dams, recharge shafts, wells), coordinating farmer trainings, and ensuring adoption of improved agricultural practices. This is a frontline role requiring strong rapport-building with tribal communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Mobilization & Institution Building:
• Mobilize community members across hamlets and facilitate Gram Sabha/village meetings.
• Support formation and strengthening of Water User Groups, SHGs, Youth Groups, and Tool Bank committees.
• Ensure transparent beneficiary identification for structures, irrigation support, and trainings.
Field Implementation Support:
• Assist technical teams/contractors in site identification and community permissions for NRM structures.
• Monitor daily progress of:
o Check dam desiltation/renovation
o Dug well renovation
o Farm ponds
o Recharge shafts
o Micro-irrigation installations
o Solar pump usage
• Verify GPS, photographs, and field reports.
Agriculture Extension:
• Conduct household/farm visits to guide farmers on improved crop practices.
• Support implementation of drip/sprinkler systems and promote water-efficient agriculture.
• Assist in organizing and supporting model plots/demonstrations.
Training & Awareness:
• Mobilize farmers for training sessions, exposure visits, and IEC dissemination.
• Distribute IEC materials and reinforce messages on water conservation, nutrition, and climate-resilient farming.
Monitoring & Reporting:
• Maintain daily field logs, attendance sheets, beneficiary records, and monthly reports.
• Support baseline, midline, and endline data collection.
Other Duties: Undertake additional duties as directed by the Reporting Manager, ensuring alignment with the organizational objectives and vision, thereby contributing to the overall mission of the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 12th pass; Diploma or Graduate in Agriculture, Social Work, Rural Development preferred.
• 1–3 years’ field experience in tribal/NRM/agriculture projects.
• Ability to work in remote areas; comfortable with community interactions.
• Marathi and tribal dialects preferred.
