Water supply systems are usually designed and installed using WSA 03 (Water Supply Code of Australia). The code provides the specific guides for key features of fire hydrant (FH) including demand and maximum spacing in residential areas. The extreme fire dangers due to climate change have been observed in recent years; this directs to review the design criteria of water supply systems related to fire control. WSA 03 code also provides different scenarios of water demands for residential allotments in Australia. The water supply pipes, pumps etc. are designed and installed to meet the specific water demand. As warmer and drier sessions are expected due to climate change, it is likely that peak water demand will be increased. An analysis is needed to understand whether the existing water supply network could cope with the higher peak water demand due to climate change.
