ABOUT EARTHTECH

Earthtech Consulting Limited is a specialist geotechnical consulting practice with established strengths in hydrogeology, engineering geology, and geotechnical engineering.  With over 35 years in the industry and a trusted client base, we work on a diverse range of hydrogeology projects—including quarries, landfill groundwater contamination, construction dewatering, and irrigation and municipal water supply development—offering our team interesting and meaningful work.

Our work takes us nationwide—primarily Auckland, Waikato, and the Bay of Plenty—with select projects in Northland, the South Island, and even the Pacific Islands.

Based in Pukekohe, the team enjoys a relaxed semi-rural environment with excellent cafĂ©s, a growing social scene, and easy public transport links to Auckland City.  Flexible work-from-home options further support a modern and adaptable way of working.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for a hydrogeologist who holds a minimum qualification of an MSc in geology, hydrogeology or a closely related field and brings at least three years of professional experience.  The role requires experience in hydrogeologic fieldwork, competency in operating field equipment, and the ability to supervise drilling contractors.  You will also need practical experience in hydrogeological modelling, groundwater chemistry, and preparing consenting reports.  Earthtech uses FEFLOW for groundwater modelling.

This role will suit someone who thrives on variety, shows initiative, and enjoys applying strong problem-solving skills.  The successful candidate will receive full support from senior staff, along with opportunities to attend conferences, courses, and other professional development events.

Earthtech offers an environment where you can genuinely grow: you’ll work closely with a small team, gain exposure to a wide range of projects from early planning through to delivery, and develop your project management capabilities, including client liaison.  In addition:

  • Your ideas will be welcomed and valued—we encourage fresh thinking.
  • You’ll never be ‘just a number’ here; we work closely and celebrate each other’s successes.
  • This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their engineering career.
  • There are career evolution opportunities.

An attractive salary will be offered to the successful candidate.

Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal English skills are essential.  You must also hold a valid New Zealand driver’s license or be eligible to drive on your international license, and be willing to travel for fieldwork.  As an Accredited Employer with Immigration New Zealand, we can support AEWV applications for qualified candidates.
