In the role of Drainage and Water Resources EIT, we’ll count on you to: 

  • Work as a member of a design team in preparation of the following elements of roadway and highway design using local (provincial, Regional, or municipal) or HEC/USACE standards: hydrology, hydraulics, apply expertise in CAD (both Civil 3D and MicroStation), storm drain design, ditch and channel design, roadway drainage, hydraulic analysis of bridges and culverts, sizing and design of stormwater management for flooding and water quality control, hydrologic assessment of watersheds, Floodplain and Riverine Analysis.
  • Work with a team in the preparation of plans, analysis and reports for projects of various sizes and complexity
  • Production of the following: Drainage Reports, Drainage Plan and Profiles, Erosion and Sediment Control Plans, Floodplain Mapping and Permitting.
  • On site field surveying, data collection and analysis may be required on occasion.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Water Resouces Engineering and/or transportation drainage engineering projects is preferred. 
  • Experience with Civil 3D, InRoads, Open Roads Designer preferred
  • Experienced with standard CAD platforms such as GIS software, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software (PCSWMM, VisualOTTHYMO, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8 preferred)
  • Excellent technical and general communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • Ability to learn independently and through experiential training
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
