As our Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) modeler, you’ll be joining our growing civil engineering team. The ideal candidate will collaborate with our multi-disciplinary team to develop a diverse range of renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, HV, Wind).

Job Responsibilities:

  • The role requires strong technical skills in event-based hydrologic analysis and floodplain management.
  • The focus of the role will be utilizing US Army Corps of Engineering software (HEC-RAS & HEC-HMS) to model flood depth and scour depth in solar photovoltaic (PV) system layouts.
  • Use QGIS to map publicly available data on the HUC watershed delineations, Land Use Land Cover, SSURGO soil maps, and National Water Information Systems.
  • Incorporate site-specific LiDAR topography, existing hydraulic structures, and geotechnical investigations into the model.
  • Develop automated processes for extracting and analyzing hydraulic results.
  • Use QGIS to produce flood risk maps and exhibits.
  • Coordinate with the civil and structural engineering teams to analyze the hydraulic performance of multiple design scenarios for value engineering.
  • Perform analysis to demonstrate compliance with FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and local regulations: No-Rise Analysis, Compensatory Storage calculations, and Letter of Map Revision.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager is a plus.
  • Ability to create model workflows with RAS-Commander.
  • Data science skills.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • 4-8 years of experience.

$100,000 – $120,000 a year
