Position SummaryMomentum, mass and energy balances in the design, synthesis and analysis of flow in pipes, open channels and porous media ; pumps; turbines; dams; spillways; culverts; diversion, conveyance and control structures.
Position RequirementsA minimum of a Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree with a P.Eng. designation. 
Applicants should have background and hand-on lab experiences as described below. Previous teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution is an asset. 
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Submission of a one page statement of teaching philosophy as it relates to the course.
Analytical knowledge of all kinds of hydraulic pressure measurement, flow in open channels and pipes, weir flow, Froude Number, supercritical flow, hydraulic jump, pipe friction, pump flow pressure torque cavitation net positive suction head and power requirements, Porous Media flow hydraulics, weir overflow, HEC RAS design analysis, EPANET design analysis.
Lab equipment operations, generate and modify a variety of hydraulic jumps in different hydraulic flumes, operate pump teaching apparatus to measure flow pressure differential pressure torque rotation speed power consumption also in cavitation condition, operate flow through large filter columns and measure flow pressure manometer differential heads, EPANET distribution system design, HEC-RAS modeling, operate weir flow bench measuring flow and incoming channel head. Equipment requires setup and potential troubleshooting.
