Project Focus: Climate-Resilient Agriculture, Natural Resource Management and Community Institution Building About the Project :
Development Support Centre (DSC), a leading NGO in Natural Resource Management (NRM) and Livelihood Development, is implementing the Climate Smart Village (CSV) project in the Pune District of Maharashtra. The project aims to build the resilience of rural communities to climate change through the promotion of water-smart, seed-smart and nutrient-smart agricultural practices, coupled with strong community governance.
The Opportunity :
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven and highly motivated Team Leader to lead the Narayangaon Field Unit. This is a senior leadership role involving strategic planning, technical guidance, high-level stakeholder convergence and financial management of a high-impact, multi-component development project and will be responsible for providing technical, managerial and administrative leadership and donor management to achieve all project goals.
Key Roles and Responsibilities :
I. Program Management and Leadership :
• The core responsibility is to ensure the high-quality and effective implementation of the Climate Smart Village project and capacity building of Water User Associations in Pune and Solapur district through strategic planning, leadership.
• External Representation: Represent DSC at various platforms, donor and guest visits and prepare visit reports.
• Resource Mobilization: Explore and develop collaboration with other agencies for convergence and funding as per the project design.
II. Financial and Administrative Management :
• Ensure proper implementation of DSC’s finance and admin policies through verification and approvals of approved project physical-financial milestones.
• Ensure all statutory compliances (Income tax, FCRA, GST, sustainable audit, corporate audits) are met on time. Assist internal and external auditors for quarterly and annual audits.
III. Human Resources Management :
• Developing and motivating the team and building leadership within the community.
• Assist the central office with the recruitment, capacity building and performance assessment and management of all field HR (specialists, coordinators, facilitators).
IV. Reporting and Documentation :
• Ensure systematic preparation and timely reporting of all project documents, including financial statements (monthly, quarterly, year-end) and sending them to the Head Office, donor and other project partners as per requirement.
Required Qualifications and Experience :
Qualification: A post-graduate degree in Rural Development, Social Work, Engineering, Agriculture or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale integrated livelihood/rural development projects, with a proven track record of team leadership.
Sector Knowledge: Deep understanding of community needs assessment, institution building Farmers groups, SHGs, convergence and working with government departments in Maharashtra.
Experience to work with Water User Associations will be added advantage.
Skills: Excellent planning, financial management, team management, networking and written/verbal communication skills (English, Marathi &Hindi).
Remuneration: Remuneration is negotiable based on qualification, competencies and experience.
