The Opportunity
The Technical Specialist for IPC and WASH will oversee infection prevention, sterilization, linen, and waste management in a 59-bed hospital serving Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals and host communities in Teknaf. The role ensures compliance with hygiene, safety, and environmental standards, managing water, sanitation, and hygiene systems in coordination with the WASH Program Lead. Responsibilities include supervising IPC operations, training hospital staff on IPC practices, and coordinating with internal and external partners. In emergencies, the incumbent may work beyond regular duties and hours.
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in healthcare facility management, focusing on sterilization, linen management, waste management, and WASH programs.
• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in nursing, Medical allied science, Public Health, Environmental Science, Health Care Management, Hospital management, Civil or public health Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Proven experience managing WASH operations, maintenance, and related projects.
• Skilled in hygiene promotion, infection prevention, and outbreak response.
• Strong in planning, coordination, and field implementation.
• Excellent English; local and Rohingya language skills an advantage.
•Good computer literacy and interpersonal skills.
