| Minimum Requirements | • Science or engineering, education – NQF8 • General management – NQF6 • 5 years of science or engineering experience in the water industry • 3 years experience managing science or engineering staff • Code 8 driver’s licence • Competent in WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint, pro-ADOBE, Outlook, etc.OTHER DESIRABLE NEEDS • Science or engineering, education – NQF8/9 • General management – NQF7 • Education, marketing, or communications education – NQF6 • 8 years of science or engineering experience in the water industry • 5 years experience managing science, engineering, education, marketing, or communications staff • 2 years experience in consumer education, marketing, or communications • Blue Drop / Green Drop / No Drop experience • ISO9001 or ISO22000 experience • Risk management experience • Artificial intelligence experience |
| Primary Duties | Educating consumers on Water Wise: • Design Water Wise education/awareness processes targeted at the wise use of water • Implement Water Wise education/awareness processes targeted at the wise use of water • Assess the effectiveness and determine the value-added of Water Wise education/awareness processes implemented • Design and develop appropriate resources/tools for Water Wise education/awareness processes • Evaluate the effectiveness of resources/tools used in Water Wise education/awareness processes Managing relationships with customer municipalities: • Conduct water quality interface meetings with customer municipalities. • Formulate and negotiate water quality clauses for supply contracts with customer municipalities. • Formulate and participate in Rand Water initiatives to assess its water quality performance by customer municipalities. • Assist customer municipalities in monitoring water quality supplied to consumers. • Resolve consumer and media queries and complaints on water quality. Participating in the organisational Water Quality Management System: • Provide strategic direction to the organisation on water quality management • Develop the organisation Water Quality Management System from catchment to tap • Conduct tasks as delegated by the organisation’s Water Quality Management System • Ensure the organisation is compliant with legislation on water quality aspects. • Assess if the situation poses an unacceptable public health risk to consumers from available water quality and other data/information. • Lobby/influence internal and external stakeholders to change decision-making and behavior in the interest of consumer health protection. • Conduct activities in ancillary areas that could influence water quality. • Identify opportunities for digital Artificial Intelligence technology and implement solutions thereof. Management of Section: • Provide leadership to the section. • Plan, organise, and control section work. • Conduct project management activities. • Manage section human resources. • Manage section finance and procurement.Manage SHEQ aspects for section. |
