Minimum Requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree qualification, Minimum NQF level 7 in Science (Water Science/ Engineering) with atleast 5 years experience in research-based Institutions
- Advanced Computer literacy
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Postgraduate qualification in Sciences (Water Science/Engineering) and 5 or more years experience in research
- Exposure to commercialisation of research
Primary Duties
- Conduct research as directed by the RWI’s business plan and R&D’s divisional objectives.
- Ensure alignment of the research approved to the strategic risk register of the organization.
- Participate in collaborative research programs as required by memorandums of understanding/agreement.
- Manage and monitor project/s schedule/s of RWI strategic partners to ensure adherence to MOU/A.
- Foster national/regional/global collaborations with Research/Academic Institutions.
- Assessment of research proposals suggested for RWI and/or its partners.
- Management of the database of the research undertaken using organisational information.
- Management of annual RWI’s Innovation, Research and Development stakeholder Forums.
- Involvement in commercialisation ventures of completed research.
- Demonstrate value-add from research in the Water and Sanitation Sector.
- Support the development of R&D Framework and procedures for Rand Water
Knowledge
- Proven good communication skills (both verbal and written) and public presentations
- Understanding of Rand Water Business/Water Sector
- Understanding of relevant Legislation/strategic approaches/risk records
- Proven track record of developing R&D business cases/reporting.
