Water For People India Trust is a non-profit organization which supports people of developing countries to improve their quality of life by promoting locally sustainable drinking water sources, sanitation facilities and health and hygiene programs. The organizational goal is to design and implement initiatives relating to improving the quality of life of those most in need by providing funding and training for water, sanitation and health and hygiene programs. . Position Summary
Water For People India Trust is inviting applications for the position of Community Resource Person (CRP) to support the implementation of the Mitha Paani pilot project in the Sundarbans region of West Bengal (Sagardwip, Patharpratima, and Gosaba blocks).The Mitha Paani project aims to demonstrate community-led, sustainable drinking water solutions in fragile coastal ecosystems through participatory planning, technology pilots, and strong local governance.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in conducting baseline surveys, household interviews, focus group discussions, and data collection on water access and usage.
• Mobilize community members, women’s self-help groups (SHGs), and youth for meetings and training sessions on water use and hygiene.
• Support the formation and functioning of Water User Committees (WUCs) and other community institutions.
• Facilitate awareness and education campaigns on safe water handling, sanitation, and maintenance practices.
• Liaise with Gram Panchayat representatives, local NGOs, and project staff to ensure smooth coordination of field activities.
• Maintain field records, daily activity logs, and submit periodic reports.
• Support the operation and maintenance (O&M) of local water systems and promote community ownership.

Prerequisites for the position
• Minimum Graduation degree in any field will be preferred.
• Experience (1–3 years) in community mobilization, social development, or WASH-related projects.
• Familiarity with local geography, language, and cultural context of the Sundarbans region.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Willingness to travel within remote Gram Panchayats and work closely with local communities.
• Basic knowledge of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) concepts is desirable
