Employee will be assigned to Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR), Program Development unit. Under administrative direction performs professional work at the expert level in a team environment using complex scientific principles in researching technical issues related to geology and hydrology and serve as a Technical Expert in the areas of computing, presenting, screening, and verifying hydrology and other environmental data.
- Develop or refine methodology for computing, presenting, screening, and verifying hydrologic and other environmental data.
 - Assess the status and trends of water and other environmental resources using statistical and GIS programs.
 - Develop high quality maps, digital geospatial datasets and other graphically based products using GIS and GPS techniques.
 - Generate scientifically defensible information products and datasets describing status and trends of water and other environmental resources using a variety of sources.
 - Perform technical review Permit Applications and conduct field investigations, collect field data and assess site conditions.
 - Prepare written document including environmental assessment reports, CHIA, work plans, enforcement documents, orders, and correspondence.
 - Develop internal program policies and procedures, and Establishes Strategic Standards, Goals and Objectives for Incorporation into the Agencies Strategic Plan.
 - Assist in the developing and the implementation of agency rules.
 - Attends Legislative, Public, and Advocacy Group Hearings.
 - Present Information for Discussion and/or Decision-making Purposes. Serve on Interstate Agency Committees or Represents Agency in other Organized Groups in Developing New Technical Standards, Rules, Guidance and Procedures.
 - Maintain specialized knowledge of developments in geo-hydrologic /biologic analysis, GIS, and geospatial analysis related to water resources by reading professional trade literature, attending conferences, workshops and training.
 
Employee must be able to use computers, especially with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, ARCGIS applications, and Global Positioning Systems (GPS). Experience in water loss and complex groundwater investigations is desirable.

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
OR
Substitution: Additional experience as described below may substitute for the required training at a rate of one (1) year of experience for every fifteen (15) semester hours of graduate training and/or every thirty (30) semester hours of undergraduate training.
AND
Experience:Â Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the specialty area.
