About the Role:
Working under broad policy direction from the General Manager, the Principal Technical Advisor, Stormwater Management Authority (SMA) operates with professional independence and is responsible for providing engineering expertise and leadership for complex and crucial stormwater management works and projects, subsidised or led by the SMA.
The incumbent will draw from their wide-spread recognition and expertise to form collaborative partnerships, relationships and networks across local government, with State agencies and stakeholder groups, to support the effective and timely delivery of SMA subsidised and lead projects.
The incumbent will apply significant professional judgement when engaging with local Government to ensure the technical veracity robustness of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, plans, reports, tender specifications and technical drawings. Furthermore, they will certify that Stormwater Management Plans prepared for approval by the SMA are delivered on time, to a high quality and meet the requirements of the Stormwater Management Planning Guidelines.
There may be a requirement to represent the Authority on steering committees and other working groups to oversee the development of Stormwater Management Plans as well as provide expert level professional advice to local government, other agencies and stakeholders.
Classification of appointment to the position will be based on the level of skills and experience demonstrated.

Essential Qualifications 
A degree in Engineering and relevant higher qualification(s) or extensive relevant discipline experience is essential.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
 - You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
 - A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
 - May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.
 
Remuneration: 
PO3 $101,285 min – $107,078 max p.a 
PO4 $110,696 min – $120,470 max p.a
