Role Introduction
Our Zutari EX Water team is a specialized engineering design group with leading design engineers who are sought-after by international clients. We are passionate about engineering design.
We are recruiting to support key Australian and European clients who have growing water businesses. Specifically, the team is looking for an experienced treatment specialist who will lead and grow our water and wastewater treatment process team.
Role responsibilities
- Leading a team of water and wastewater process engineers pursuing international clients.
- Developing and growing the process team to meet our business growth strategy.
- Engineering management of the team to meet quality and time objectives on projects.
- Be responsible as the lead process design engineer on projects, interacting with multiple disciplines and clients to meet project objectives.
- Perform analyses, calculations and designs in furtherance of process treatment designs, including hydraulics, physical, biological and chemical modelling and design.
- Be responsible as the technical reviewer or verifier of process designs.
- Be a team player that is willing to collaborate across multiple disciplines and international geographies.
- Write technical and business reports.
- Project manage assignments.
- Ensure Zutari EX’s quality controls procedures are applied across projects and the required quality standards are maintained.
- Be an excellent communicator (proven ability to interact well with personnel at all organizational levels).
- Have excellent organizational and time management skills.
Minimum requirements
- BSc/BEng. degree (Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering).
- A master’s degree in water and/or wastewater treatment or other post-graduate qualifications in a similar field.
- Registration with ECSA (or equivalent) as a Professional Engineer.
- 12 or more years of experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering projects. The successful candidate will be appointed to a position and role commensurate with their experience.
- Water and/or wastewater treatment process design and optimization, and a foundational understanding of aquatic chemistry.
- A solid working knowledge of engineering design software and analytical tools applicable to the envisaged role.
- A sound understanding and working knowledge of BIM processes.
Advantageous Experience and Competencies
- Experience on Australian or European treatment projects and design codes.
- Leading treatment project implementation across the full project lifecycle (ie. detailed design, contract procurement and contract administration or construction monitoring).
