Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India) is hiring an NGO Partner to conduct an Aquifer mapping study in one of its project regions of Gujarat. The proposed Aquifer mapping study will be conducted for the project titled “Integrated water resource management for salinity mitigation in coastal Gujarat”.
Project Background
- Geographic Focus: The project will be implemented in 25 villages of Khambhaliya block, located in the coastal area of Devbhoomi Dwarka district, Gujarat.
 
The primary objective of the Project is:
- Aquifer mapping of 25 villages of the project.
 - Preparation of GIS maps/documents with indication of major geological features, water table, and drainage maps.
 - Suggesting suitable locations for the water harvesting structures (or repairing works).

 - Block – 1
 - District – 1
 
Scope of studies
The consultant is expected to collect both qualitative and quantitative type of data. It is expected that the consultant should develop overall design of the study.
Key area to focus
- Review all project documents related to the study which is available with the project team.
 - Develop methodology, approaches, and tools for this assignment.
 - Completion of GIS data base.
 - Completion of questionnaire survey.
 - Finalize ground water mapping report with updated models.
 - Finalize detailed ground water quality analysis.
 - Mapping out resources and finalize ground water management plan (potential intervention area).
 - Submission of inception report.
 - Submission of report outline.
 - Submission of first draft report.
 - Final report and dissemination brief submitted to AKRSP (I).
 - Present the major findings with AKRSP(I).
