Qualifications
- A degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering or a related Engineering field and at least 8 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation, and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. - A strong background in water utilities and demonstrated knowledge and experience with municipal, provincial and federal legislations related to the water utility are essential. Subject matter expertise in water network analysis and design is critical for this position.
- Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas would be an asset: linear systems design, operations and maintenance, and strong analytical skills would be considered an asset.
- Experience in computer modelling and the use of a variety of computer applications, including InfoWater, Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS), and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word would be assets.
- Success in this role requires:
- Exceptional project management skills, with demonstrated ability to monitor and train technical staff to achieve the goals of multi-dimensional work programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively on technical, operational and business issues to multiple audiences.
- Strong technical leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead change and innovations.
Working Conditions: Office environment with field visits as required.
