Salary: $52,500+ based on qualifications and experience

The Lesser Slave Watershed Council (LSWC) is seeking an enthusiastic, social media-savvy, and outdoors-loving individual to join our team as a Watershed Outreach Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in both field and office environments, enjoys engaging with the public, and is passionate about watershed health and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
-Communications & Outreach
-Manage and update the LSWC website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube)
-Create engaging content and educational materials (newsletters, blogs, presentations)
-Coordinate meetings, workshops, and community events as required
-Maintain communication lists and membership records
-Support the development of the Annual Report
-Represent LSWC at public events
-Distribute watershed and stewardship resources
-Participate in the AB WPAC Education & Outreach Committee and engage with provincial partners.
-Delivery of youth education programs and or field trips.
-Represent LSWC at public events and distribute watershed and stewardship resources
Projects & Programs
-Conduct water quality monitoring (field sampling, data entry, equipment maintenance)
-Support the Watershed Resiliency Program and related events
-Assist with CABIN and lake invertebrate sampling
-Collect invasive species samples
-Support partnership projects and new projects as required
-Required Qualifications
-Strong professional communication skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Google applications
-Experience with multiple social media platforms and web editing.
-Basic graphic design and photo editing skills
-Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
-Physical ability to hike 1 km carrying equipment
-Preferred Qualifications
-Post-secondary education in environmental science, biology, or a related field
-Experience in outreach or communications roles
-Environmental monitoring experience
-Project management experience
-Current First Aid & Bear Aware certificates
