Offer Description
Mission:
Evaluate the ecosystem services provided by wetlands in coastal areas.
Functions to be developed:
- Design and implement monitoring strategies to assess water quality in coastal, river or wetland environments.
- Operate and maintain field and laboratory instrumentation to measure relevant physical, chemical and biological parameters.
- Collect, validate and manage environmental data sets from sensors, sampling and laboratory analyses.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify spatial and temporal patterns, trends and anomalies in water quality
- Develop and apply data processing and visualization tools to support environmental decision-making.
- Guarantee data quality control and assurance (QA/QC) according to established protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate water quality information into broader environmental or management models.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports that include methodologies, results and recommendations.

Skills/Qualifications
Technical Competences:
- Comprehensive water quality analysis using advanced instrumentation and data analysis.
- Characterization and biological modeling of coastal environmental systems.
- Geological and physical characterization of estuarine systems.
- Characterization, management and treatment of soil and groundwater contamination.
Other requirements to consider:
- Ability to interpret results and develop environmental diagnoses.
Specific Requirements
Educational Requirements:
- Environmental management systems.
- Water quality using instrumental techniques and data analysis.
- Physical, chemical and biological principles that determine water quality.
Professional Experience:
- Carrying out laboratory tasks in the field of Environmental Engineering.
- In the experimental design of proof-of-concept experiments.
- In data analysis for scientific research and experimental design.
- Experience in functions similar to those described will be valued, specifically in the development of research activities, both in the university and industrial environment.

€37,001.56 gross/year (per full-time position)
Eligibility criteria
All the candidates who cannot prove the required academic degree will be immediately withdrawn from the selection process.
The CVs will be assessed according the following general criteria:
- The maximum score for the candidates who accomplish all the eligibility criteria stated in the job offer will be 10 points.
- Threshold: 5 points.
- The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows:
- 1 point for required speciality.
- 2 points for required academic training.
- 2 points for technic competences.
- 1 point for organisational competences.
- 3 points for professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate’s professional profile to be determined as specially relevant by the Selection committee.
If the selection committee decide to include a personal interview as additional step of the selection process, only the candidates scored 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview step.
The interview will be assessed according the following criteria:
- Maximum scoring: 5 points.
- Threshold: 3 points.
- The maximum score will be distributed according the following criteria:
- 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job.
- 2 points for adequacy of professional experience.
- 1 point for any aspect of the candidate’s professional profile to be determined as especially relevant by the Selection committee.
The eligible candidates will be ranked from highest to lowest score, being this the selection criteria.
