What you can expect to do here:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced numerical groundwater flow and contaminant transport models for large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.
- Oversee and review the work of project teams, ensuring technical quality, innovation, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Serve as the primary technical expert and point of contact for clients, providing guidance on project scoping, methodology, and risk management.
- Develop and refine conceptual and numerical models, integrating complex datasets and advanced analytical techniques.
- Prepare and deliver high-impact technical reports, presentations, and proposals for internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and train junior and intermediate hydrogeologists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting proposal development, and building client relationships.
- Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental standards, championing a “Safety First” culture.
- Stay at the forefront of groundwater modelling advancements, promoting the adoption of new tools, software, and methodologies.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- Master’s or PhD in Hydrogeology, Environmental/Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in groundwater modelling, with a proven track record of technical leadership on major projects.
- Professional registration as a Geoscientist or Engineer in Ontario (or eligibility).
- Advanced expertise in numerical modelling software (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere) and data analysis tools (Python, SQL).
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and client management skills.
- Strong business acumen and experience supporting business development initiatives.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License (or equivalent) and willingness to travel as required.
