WeWorld has been active in Ukraine since March 2022, focusing on WASH, Shelter, Protection, Education, and Peacebuilding in response to the conflict.
In the framework of these activities, The WASH Expert will provide strategic and technical support to ensure high-quality, standards-based interventions and strengthen long-term WASH systems in coordination with HQ and country teams.
The WASH Expert will deliver top-quality technical and thematic support, adhering to agreed timelines and modalities, and will provide guidance and/or support the organization in the following areas of Work:
- Technical Consultancy and Advisory
- Programme Implementation (WASH in Health focus)
- Needs Assessments and Programme Development
- Strategy Development
- Coordination and Representation
REQUIRMENTS
– About 10 days/month for back-office activities (as minimum)– to be planned with the relevant team (Country Representative and or his/her delegate), Global Wash expert
– Mission abroad in WeWorld country offices – to be planned with the relevant team (Country Representative and or his/her delegate), Global Wash expert
Qualifications and Knowledge
• Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Water and Sanitation, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of gender-sensitive and inclusive WASH approaches.
• Excellent written and spoken English
Professional experience
• Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in WASH programming, including at least 2 years in conflict/emergency contexts.
• NGO previous experience and experience in emergency developing countries
• Demonstrated expertise in WASH in Health interventions (e.g. WASH FIT, IPC).
• Experience in needs assessments, project design, and donor proposal development.
