BlueTech Research is looking for a commercially minded and highly organised Events Manager to lead the strategy and delivery of our BlueTech Forum Unplugged series and other global event activations.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on creating outstanding in-person experiences and knows how to build events that are as financially sound as they are impactful. Our next team member is someone who sees beyond logistics and understands the power of convening, conversation and community.
What you’ll do
You’ll lead the entire lifecycle of multiple global events — from strategy to execution — ensuring each gathering reflects BlueTech’s standard of thought leadership while meeting commercial and operational goals.
This role combines business acumen, relationship-building, and flawless execution. You’ll have full P&L responsibility for the Unplugged series and will be expected to manage budgets, build partnerships, and deliver events that are both meaningful and financially sustainable.
1. Responsibilities
In-person BlueTech events:
- Lead end-to-end planning and delivery of BlueTech Forum Unplugged events worldwide
- Develop event concepts, agendas, and themes that reflect our research and thought leadership
- Manage the event P&L: budgets, cost control, sponsorship revenue, and ROI tracking
- Build relationships with sponsors, partners, and delegates to ensure long-term engagement
- Oversee venues, vendors, AV, and logistics to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences
In-person partner events
(Conferences and special activations)
- Coordinate BlueTech’s participation at key industry conferences such as WEFTEC and AquaTech, including exhibition management, speaking engagements, and networking activities
- Support and manage special film screenings (e.g., Our Blue World and Brave Blue World) featuring BlueTech speakers or moderated panels
- Liaise with partners, sponsors, and event organisers to ensure BlueTech’s brand and team presence are consistent, professional, and impactful
- Handle onsite logistics, schedules, and travel arrangements for BlueTech team members and speakers
Virtual events
(Virtual Roundtables, webinars, and briefings)
- Plan, schedule, and deliver Virtual Roundtables and webinars — from topic development and speaker coordination to invitations and post-event reporting
- Oversee event platforms and technical delivery (e.g., Zoom Webinar, Teams)
- Manage registration, communications, and participant follow-up
- Collaborate with marketing and research teams to align topics and audience targeting
- Track attendance, feedback, and engagement metrics to refine future sessions
2. What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in end-to-end event managemenT
- Including commercial elements
- Ideally B2B or professional/technical sectors
- A strong track record in budget ownership/P&L and sponsorship revenue
- Excellent programme design, stakeholder management, and vendor coordination skills
- Pragmatic, outcomes-driven approach; calm under pressure and strong on follow-through
- Fluent English (spoken and written); comfortable working with senior executives
- Familiarity with international logistics and operating in remote, distributed teams
Bonus points:
- Familiarity with the water sector, cleantech, or sustainability space
3. You’ll thrive in this role if…
- You treat events as strategic platforms for community and thought leadership, not just schedules
- You’re equally at home cultivating sponsors and running a tight show
- You take clear ownership—commercially and operationally—and deliver
- You enjoy turning ambitious ideas into well-run, high-impact experiences
