This position is located in the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) – Watershed Protection Branch – Non Point Source Program – Erosion and Sedimentation Unit. The incumbent in this position serves as an environmental engineer focusing on erosion and sedimentation and construction stormwater. Job Duties will include performing buffer variance reviews, updating permits upon reissuance, erosion control plan reviews and providing compliance assistance to customers. The incumbent in this position will use their expertise to protect Georgia’s water resources and implement EPD’s mission to protect and restore Georgia’s environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with water quality modeling Experience with principles of erosion and sedimentation
Knowledge of Georgia’s NPDES Construction Storm Water Permits
Knowledge of stream identification methods and watersheds Level 2 and/or Level 1B Erosion and Sedimentation
Certification Knowledge of stream buffer requirements
Strong customer service skills
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in agricultural, chemical, civil, environmental, civil-sanitary or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university.
