Position Description | The Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Texas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a focus in Water Resources to begin Fall 2026. We seek an individual with exceptional potential as a scholar and teacher. The position includes maintaining an active research agenda, teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels, advising Masters and PhD students, and participating in departmental service activities. |
Required Qualifications | A PhD degree in Geography, Environmental Studies, Geosciences, or a related field by the time of appointment.A demonstrated record of peer-reviewed scholarship.Demonstrated or potential ability to develop a strong research agenda.Demonstrated experience or capacity to teach courses including Water Resources, Applied Water Resources, and River Basin Management as well as other appropriate courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. |
Preferred Qualifications | Research interests in applied water resources that uses advanced technology, field methods, and/or modeling approaches.A demonstrated record of securing external research funding in water resources.Demonstrated ability to advise graduate students.Demonstrated or potential ability to teach Water Policy or Water Resources Planning. |
