Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead a team of government seconded hygiene promoters, providing guidance, support, and motivation to achieve program objectives.
  • Set clear performance goals and expectations for people under your supervision and conduct regular performance evaluations and feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Identify training needs and provide capacity-building opportunities to enhance team members’ skills and knowledge.

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive hygiene promotion program in line with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate community-led approaches to prioritize sanitation and hygiene improvement interventions.
  • Conduct assessments and research to identify specific hygiene practices and behaviors that need improvement in the communities and institutions.
  • Design and adapt behavior change communication materials, campaigns, and strategies to promote good hygiene practices.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, such as community leaders, government agencies, and NGOs, to ensure program success and sustainability.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:

  • Work with MEAL team to establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness and impact of hygiene promotion activities.
  • Regularly collect and analyze data on hygiene indicators, program outputs, and outcomes to inform program improvements.
  • Prepare timely and accurate reports on program progress, achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Produce and submit regular reports as may be scheduled or established in the department.
    • Share findings and lessons learned with internal and external stakeholders to promote learning and best practices.

Coordination and Partnership:

  • Collaborate with other teams or departments within the organization to integrate hygiene promotion efforts into broader public health initiatives.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, community-based organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization in relevant forums, meetings, and working groups related to hygiene promotion and public health.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public health, community health, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams, preferably in hygiene promotion, public health, or community development.
  • Strong knowledge of hygiene promotion theories, behavior change models, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with public health issues, sanitation, water-born and water-related diseases.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural and diverse environments.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (fluency in Juba Arabic may be advantageous).Top of Form
