About the Role:

The Senior Policy Officer is responsible for providing expert policy and legislative advice relating to coastal management and protection issues in South Australia. The role will work closely with the Coast Protection Board, coastal councils, Landscape Boards, and other key stakeholders in the review, development, delivery and management of coastal policy and projects. This role will make a significant contribution to the setting strategic policy direction for management and protection of the State’s coastal environment.
The Senior Policy Officer will support the Coast Protection Board’s strategic business planning, facilitate DEW staff delivery of Board programs, and oversee reporting to the Coast Protection Board, DEW Executive and the Minister on coastal issues as required.

Contract: 2 Year Contract
Desirable Qualifications:
An appropriate degree/qualification in public policy, coastal management, natural resources management or related discipline.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel, occasional overnight absences, and work outside of the normal hours of work.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness to drive is desirable.
- Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.
Remuneration: ASO6, $98,478 min – $104,165 max p.a.
